What we can do for your smile:
Porcelain veneers are a piece of porcelain that is contoured to a damaged tooth to give it the natural appearance of healthy teeth. In addition to providing a good looking appearance to the smile, they also provide strength to damaged teeth. They are a minimally invasive procedure that can correct minor imperfections, misalignments and small gaps. Many people use them for purely cosmetic purposes, for simple whitening, or straightening of the teeth. Anyone looking to correct minor imperfections in the smile will be pleasantly surprised by the natural look and feel of porcelain veneers.
There are many advantages of porcelain veneers. One of the major benefits is their strength, as it rivals the strength of natural tooth enamel. In addition to strength, it is long lasting. When properly cared for, it can last from ten to twenty years, in which time they pay for themselves several times over their lifespan. They are easy to care for, because you can care for them the same way that you care for natural teeth. On top of the functional benefits of porcelain veneers, the appearance of porcelain veneers is lovely, which is beneficial for your confidence.
Caring for your porcelain veneers is no different than your natural teeth. With porcelain veneers, be sure to thoroughly brush your teeth at least twice per day for at least two minutes each. In addition to brushing, flossing daily will help to keep the gums surrounding the veneers healthy. Using a mouth rinse daily will also help to keep the entire mouth, veneers and all, healthy and with fresh breath. Be cautious when using whitening products with veneers, because they are typically matched to your natural tooth color. Regular semi-annual dental cleanings will ensure the continued health of your veneers.

If you’re in the market for a smile makeover, it all starts with a consultation. At this consultation we will discuss what goals you may have regarding your smile. Our team of talented experts will then come up with the best plan of action to help you meet those goals.
Your next visit will require a mold of your mouth to be taken and we can then start work on the redesign of your smile. Fabrication of the porcelain is done offsite in a lab and once complete, we will schedule another appointment to install the crowns or veneers. The number of appointments required will depend on how much work is required.
Contrary to popular belief porcelain veneers only require a small reduction in tooth structure because they are less than 0.5 mm thick.
Typically, your veneer or crown should last between 20-25 years without atrophying or losing colour.
Live your life as you usually would. Your porcelain veneer or crown is durable and rarely comes loose once it has been bonded. In the unusual circumstance that it does, feel free to give us a call and we can help you fix it.
